1) Acceptance of the Terms

By accessing or using dadsfigureitout.org and related content (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information.

2) Eligibility & Geographic Scope

The Services are intended for users in the United States and for general audiences. Users under 13 should not submit personal information. International users consent to processing in the United States.

3) Forms, Submissions & Accounts

• You agree that information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share it.
• We may contact you about your submission and store it consistent with our Privacy Policy.
• If you create any account or login (present or future), you are responsible for securing your credentials and for all activities under your account.

4) Nominations & Recognitions

• Submitting a nomination does not guarantee recognition.
• We will confirm participation and permissions with the nominee and/or nominator before any public posting.
• We may edit submissions for clarity, length, or privacy considerations.
• Published stories, images, or media may be removed or corrected upon request where feasible.
• Pilot note: Initial recognitions may reflect a limited pilot program conducted prior to charitable-solicitation registration.

5) Supporters & Acknowledgements

People and organizations that contribute time, expertise, services, or other resources may be acknowledged (e.g., Supporters Wall). Listings are informational and do not constitute an endorsement. Contact info@dadsfigureitout.org to request an update or removal.

6) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or fraudulent purposes.
• Submit content that infringes rights of others or contains personal data you lack authority to share.
• Attempt to interfere with security, integrity, or availability of the Services.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data except as allowed by robots.txt or written permission.

7) Intellectual Property & License to DFIO

The Services and all materials therein are owned by DFIO or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, or create derivative works.

Your submissions: By submitting stories, text, photos, or other content, you grant DFIO a non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display such content in connection with nominations, recognitions, archives, and promotion of DFIO’s mission, subject to any permissions we confirm with you and consistent with our Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to grant this license.

8) Copyright/DMCA Policy

If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, notify us with the following:

• Your contact information.
• Identification of the copyrighted work.
• The URL or description of the allegedly infringing material.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

10) Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11) Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DFIO AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR ACCESSING THE SERVICES IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DFIO and our directors, officers, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

13) Governing Law; Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state and federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida, for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Services.

14) Changes to the Services or Terms

We may modify the Services and update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above indicates the latest version. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
