This Privacy Policy explains how DFIO handles information collected through our website dadsfigureitout.org, nomination and contact forms, and related content (collectively, the “Services”). This policy does not cover third-party platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram); their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.

  • Nomination details such as stories, locations, @handles/links, and optional media you choose to share.
  • Acknowledgement preferences if you ask to be listed (e.g., name or organization) on our Supporters Wall.

  • Usage data (e.g., pages viewed, device/browser type, approximate location) via cookies or similar technologies.
  • Log data for site operation, security, and troubleshooting.

Information from third parties

  • Public social profiles when you include links/handles in a nomination.
  • Vendors that provide website hosting, analytics, or form processing.

  • To review, coordinate, and communicate regarding nominations and recognitions.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
  • To publish recognition stories and images only with appropriate permissions.
  • To provide acknowledgements (e.g., Supporters Wall) when requested or appropriate.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4) How We Share Information

  • Service providers (e.g., hosting, email, analytics, form tools) under agreements that limit their use to providing services to DFIO.
  • Consent-based sharing when you expressly authorize us to publish or share particular content (e.g., recognition stories with photos).

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6) Nominations & Recognitions

  • Only submit information you are comfortable sharing with DFIO.
  • If a nomination is selected, we will contact the nominee and/or nominator to confirm participation and permissions before any public posting.
  • We honor removal or correction requests for published recognition content to the extent feasible—email info@dadsfigureitout.org.

7) Supporters & Acknowledgements

Supporters (people or businesses) may be listed on our Supporters Wall to recognize their contributions of time, expertise, services, or other support. If you wish to update or remove your listing, contact us at info@dadsfigureitout.org.

8) Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to limit certain processing.

  • California (CCPA/CPRA): You may request access, correction, deletion, and information about our disclosures. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise rights, email info@dadsfigureitout.org with “California Request” in the subject line.
  • EEA/UK (GDPR-style): You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and data portability. Our lawful bases typically include consent (for stories/media), legitimate interests (site operation and security), and legal obligation.

We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.

Do Not Sell or Share: If you wish to submit a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” request, email info@dadsfigureitout.org; we currently do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

10) Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
