DFIO Dad Recognition

Submit a dad whose story deserves to be seen.

Every day, dads quietly show up for their families, communities, and the people who count on them. Help us recognize one.

Social media is not required. Public recognition happens with consent.

Why It Matters

Some dads never hear the impact they’re making.

A submission is more than a form. It is a way to pause, name what someone has carried, and remind a dad that his presence matters. DFIO recognitions are built to honor everyday fatherhood with care, dignity, and consent.

How Recognition Works

A simple path from story to recognition.

Submit

Share the story with specific examples of how this dad shows up.

Review

DFIO reviews submissions and reaches out when needed.

Recognize

Selected dads may receive recognition, community support, and public celebration with consent.

We read every submission. Timing and scheduling depend on volume and how many recognitions we have planned each week.

Recognition Elements

What recognition can include.

Each recognition is handled with care. Depending on the submission, timing, availability, and consent, selected dads may be honored in different ways.

Recognition Feature

A featured DFIO recognition shared with care and permission.

DFIO Keepsake Coin

A tangible reminder that his story and effort were seen.

DFIO Merchandise

DFIO-branded items may be included depending on the recognition.

Community Spotlight

A social post, live mention, or community moment with consent.

Dad Series Opportunity

Some dads may be invited to share more of their story through DFIO storytelling.

Strong Submissions

The best submissions are specific, honest, and personal.

Be Specific

Share real examples instead of general praise.

Share a Real Moment

Describe something he did, carried, overcame, or made possible.

Explain Why It Matters

Help us understand the impact on his kids, partner, family, or community.

Optional: include social handles, profile links, photos, or the best way to reach him. Social media is not required to submit a dad.

Trust & Consent

Questions, privacy, and consent.

Privacy & consent

By submitting, you confirm accuracy and that you have permission to share this story. DFIO may contact you for additional details (including photos, if offered). Stories, images, or media are shared publicly only with permission and in ways that respect the dad and his family.

Do I need the nominee’s permission first?

You can submit a dad without telling him. If selected, we reach out privately to confirm details and get consent before any public recognition.

What if the dad doesn’t have social media?

No problem — social media is not required. If selected, we may ask you (or someone close to the dad) to share photos so we can create a personalized recognition video for DFIO channels.

What if I only have a handle or a link?

That’s perfect. @handles or profile links are helpful. If you don’t have them, share the story and we’ll follow up if we need more details.

Are recognitions guaranteed?

We review every submission, but we can’t guarantee recognition. Our goal is to grow this program sustainably, reach dads across all 50 states, and keep each recognition meaningful and personal.
