Donate Nominate a Dad

DFIO Week in Review (May 3 – May 9)

Another meaningful week for the Dads Figure It Out Foundation community.

As DFIO continues growing through storytelling, partnerships, and community-driven support, this week reminded us exactly why these programs matter. From recognizing fathers who quietly carry heavy loads, to launching conversations around our newest initiative, every step forward continues to come directly from the community.

1) A Dad Recognition Sparked by the Community

This week, DFIO recognized a father from Houston after a social media creator captured a moment at a local park that resonated with thousands of people online.

The video sparked curiosity about who this dad was and what his story might be. Through the power of community, we were able to connect with his wife and learn more about the man behind the video — a hardworking father navigating difficult circumstances while continuing to show up for his family every day.

Some recognitions come through nominations.
Others happen because people pause long enough to notice someone quietly figuring it out.

This was one of those moments.

You can read his story now on the DFIO Recognitions page.

2) Two New DFIO Support Partners Joined the Network

The DFIO Support Network continues to grow.

This week, two new partners joined our expanding community of organizations, creators, and community supporters who believe in uplifting fathers and families through visibility, collaboration, and shared purpose.

The Support Network was created to connect communities with resources, voices, and organizations that are making a positive impact — locally and nationally.

Every new partnership helps strengthen that mission.

3) Invited to Speak at the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel

DFIO was honored to receive an invitation to speak at the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel.

This opportunity allows us to introduce DFIO and our growing programs to local community leaders while continuing to build relationships throughout the Wesley Chapel area.

As a grassroots organization built through community support and storytelling, opportunities like this help create awareness around fathers, family support, and the importance of recognizing everyday people who often go unseen.

4) New Dad Series Entry from Pro MMA Fighter Devin Thomas

This week also brought a new entry into the DFIO Dad Series from professional MMA fighter Devin Thomas.

The Dad Series continues to grow with voices from all walks of life — athletes, creators, podcasters, professionals, and everyday dads — each sharing what “figuring it out” means to them.

Every story shared helps another father feel seen, understood, and less alone in the journey.

5) DFIO Featured on DolphinsTalk.com Podcast

This week, DFIO founder Miguel DeLeon recorded a podcast episode with Mike Oliva from DolphinsTalk.com
to discuss the mission of DFIO and especially our newly launched Game Day Experience program.

The conversation focused on:

The growth of DFIO as a grassroots nonprofit
Why community storytelling matters
How the Game Day Experience program was created
The vision for expanding the program nationally across multiple sports and cities

The episode is now available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/h7qJ1tWUayU?si=8KL8hMAVjeqiJOwq

6) Launch of the Game Day Experience Program

This week marked the official launch of DFIO’s newest initiative: the Game Day Experience program.

The program is designed to help provide unforgettable sports experiences for deserving dads and families through community-supported ticket donations, partnerships, and sponsorships.

The vision is simple:

Fans helping families
Communities helping communities
Creating memories that may otherwise never happen

The program is currently being piloted in the Tampa and Miami areas, with hopes of expanding nationally across all sports.

As interest continues growing, DFIO is actively building relationships with:

Community organizations
Local businesses
Sports communities
Sponsors
Fans willing to donate unused tickets

This initiative has the potential to become something truly special because it is being fueled directly by the community itself.

Thank You

To everyone who shared a story, partnered with us, donated time, opened doors, or simply supported the mission this week — thank you.

DFIO continues to grow because people believe fathers matter, stories matter, and community matters.

We’re just getting started.
